Optional: In the GL.iNet WiFi settings, you can adjust the power level of the GL.iNet’s WiFi network. You should see the SSID you just created listed next to the WiFi settings icon. Re-enter your admin password if asked and you will be reconnected to the GL.iNet’s settings page. Re-enter 192.168.8.1 in the browser’s address bar. Go to your device’s WiFi settings and reconnect to the GL.iNet using the WiFi network name (SSID) and password you just created. Note: This password can be the same or different than the admin password you set up earlier.Īt this point, you will no longer be connected to the GL.iNet (because it’s SSID has changed). The SSID is the name of the WiFi network that will be created by the router and to which you will connect Wyze Cam using the password you created. Enter an SSID and Password of your choosing. The Mode should be 300M, leave the Channel as is, and Encryption should be WPA2. In the SETTINGS column, click the WiFi settings icon:, then click the Setting button. You will then be connected to the GL.iNet’s settings page which looks like this: This is the admin password for accessing the router’s settings pages and can be different from the password used to connect to the router’s WiFi (to be set up later). Choose your language, time zone and create a password for the GL.iNet. You will be connected to the GL.iNet’s setup screens. It is recommended to use Chrome or Firefox web browsers, but Safari also works. Once your device is connected to the router’s WiFi, open a web browser tab and enter 192.168.8.1 in the address bar. Once the router is powered up, connect your device (phone, tablet or computer) to the WiFi SSID printed on the bottom of the router (e.g., “GL-MT300N-xx-xxx”) using the WiFi password (key) also printed on the bottom of the router (e.g., “goodlife”). The instructions below are based on the GL.iNet GL-MT300N-V2 router.įollow the setup instructions found in Quick Start Guide that accompanies the GL.iNet and can be found online here:įirst, power up the GL.iNet by connecting to a computer USB port or a user-provided USB power supply. It is possible, however, to connect Wyze Cam to this type of network by using an inexpensive travel router such as GL.iNet as an intermediary bridge between the camera and the public WiFi network. The reason Wyze Cam cannot connect to this type of network is that the camera has no web browser interface allowing the user to enter the required info. This type of WiFi is commonly found in hotels and other public places. Wyze Cam cannot connect to WiFi networks that have a portal page (also called a landing or login page) where the user must accept terms and conditions and/or enter login credentials or payment information. Wyze Cam can only connect to 2.4GHz WiFi networks with WPA/WPA2 password protection.
